Weasley Sweater

Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2020! Well, actually I really can’t believe it because I’m writing this ahead of time and it’s still 2019 right now so hello from the past!

Last night I had White Elephant/Secret Santa with my friends who I have been doing it with since high school. Since I’m writing this before the party, I’m just going to assume we had a great time. I’ll have to get back to you tomorrow on what gift I ended up with.

Anyway, the outfit I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to White Elephant. How I came across this sweatshirt is my friend had suggested we do Ugly Christmas Sweaters for White Elephant, even though we are doing it after Christmas and on New Year’s Eve. I don’t think it ever caught on though as I never heard anyone mention it again. But, I was browsing Christmas sweaters and saw a few Harry Potter themed ones that looked adorable. Ones that lit up, ones that had all the important symbols on it, etc. Of course, every single one I liked was sold out in my size. I decided to check Etsy and I came across the Weasley Sweater, but in sweatshirt form – therefore less $. You can decide what colors you want – I went with the Gryffindor colors naturally – and whatever initial you want. Any Potter fan will know the significance of this sweater/sweatshirt!

I finished off the look with brown leggings (and brown UGGs, not pictured) and most importantly, my Alex and Ani Time Turner bangle! I got it as a Christmas gift and it is so pretty!

I think this sweatshirt was a much better choice than those more elaborate sweaters I had my eye on. Yeah, those were cute and really festive, but this sweatshirt can be worn all year round and it’s just more practical.
