Restyled: Belted Popcorn Sweater Tunic
How was your weekend? Mine was pretty busy and I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me this week, but I think it’ll be nice to have a bit of a routine after such a busy weekend. On Friday night I had that AKT class, which I’m still recovering from by the way, Saturday was Chinese New Year, and yesterday I was invited to attend a Chinese New Year dance performance at NJPAC which I’ll be writing about tomorrow! The show was great, however during intermission of the show I learned about Kobe Bryant and his daughter’s tragic deaths and then it was on my mind and heart for the rest of the show. It had me in such a sad mood for the rest of the day. I’m not a huge basketball fan, Lakers fan, or anything, but I loved watching Kobe’s interviews on shows like The Tonight Show over the years gushing about his family, especially his daughter who wanted to be a basketball player too. I just find the whole thing so heartbreaking and I can’t imagine what his family is going through having lost their husband/father and daughter/sister at once.
But on to a lighter note. On Saturday, as I mentioned, it was Chinese New Year and it is customary to wear red to ward of evil and bring good luck. I wore this burgundy tunic length popcorn sweater, leggings, and duck boots since it was a nasty, rainy day. My sweater is from last winter and last time I wore it on here I wore it with black leggings and cognac heeled boots. This time I decided to change it up by simply adding a white double-o ring belt and change up the shoes.
Sweater: Jane | Belt: Amazon (here) | Leggings: Express (here) | Boots: UGG
I love the sweater belted and unbelted. I love how just a simple accessory and a change of shoes can give you a whole new outfit.
