Book Review: Business Casual

I can’t believe the Lovelight Farms series by B.K. Borison is complete now that Business Casual is out in the world. It is one of my favorite series and Business Casual definitely lived up to the hype of being the last book in the series.

If you’re unfamiliar with the series, Lovelight Farms is owned by 3 friends in the small town of Inglewild. The first book, Lovelight Farms, follows Stella and Luka. Stella handles the business part of the farm and was originally the sole owner. Luka was her longtime best friend. After a fake dating scheme, Luka and Stella finally reveal their feelings for each other. In the Weeds, Beckett and Evie are the focus. Beckett handles all farm operations and Evie is a travel blogger who first came to Inglewild to visit Lovelight Farms and they realize they met once before. Mixed Signals follows Layla and Caleb. Layla runs the bakeshop on the farm and Caleb has been her friend for years, coming to get baked goods every day just to see her.

So now Business Casual follows Charlie and Nova. Charlie is Stella’s half brother and Nova is Beckett’s little sister. They have been friends for years and Charlie has been flirty with her just as long. When Stella and Luka get married, Charlie gifts them a month in Italy for their honeymoon and offers to stay on the farm to help run things while they’re gone. Nova, who has been busy trying to open a tattoo shop in their small town, has been soley focused on work for a long time. Her sisters have pointed out that she needs to loosen up and when Charlie coaxes her out on the dance floor she thinks maybe some casual fun with him isn’t such a bad idea. Little does she know Charlie would be staying in Inglewild for a month instead of only coming to visit every other weekend.

But what happens when Nova and Charlie get closer and closer, have a ton of fun together, and feel like they just get each other? Can they keep it casual?

I loved Charlie and Nova so much and just like the other books there were parts that were funny and parts that were emotional and definitely hit me in the feels. Charlie is so swoon worthy and has definitely made it onto my next book boyfriend list! I just love Inglewild and all the characters that live there including the beloved Lovelight characters. It was so heartwarming how they make Charlie feel wanted and like he belongs. When you read more about his personal story and background you understand how important this is and why it means so much to him. And Charlie is so perfect in how he helps Nova realize she is worthy and like how she is special and enough. I just adore them.

This was the perfect spicy, friends to lovers romcom.

I enjoyed the epilogue, but I wish we got a glimpse of the other characters too to see what they are up to. I hope B.K. Borison comes out with a novella or something some day that shows us what they’re all doing in the future!

If you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend it. The first book takes place at Christmas so later this year could be the perfect time to start!

And finishing this book checks off another one of the romcom books I put on my summer tbr. Now I’ve finished 7 of the 10 I put on my list!
