    Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

I was lucky enough to receive this Clarins Lip Comfort Oil from Influenster last week and I’ve been enjoying using it ever since. Clarins describes it as lip oils that are “infused with 100% pure plant oils nourish, soothe and plump lips — leaving a protective veil of color. Apply before lipstick for a smooth application, wear alone for soft hydrated lips, or top off any lip color for added shine.” I had no idea what shade I would be sent and I was a little apprehensive when I got the mint one. A beautiful blue shade, but what I didn’t know at the time is that the mint lip oil is not tinted…

    L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation

I’m a fan of L’Oreal foundations and when I was recently in the market for a new one I decided to try the L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation. This foundation is in a squeezy tube and is on the thicker side. I have the shade “natural buff” which is a little dark for me, but I’ve been making it work. It applies a bit orange, but thankfully a few minutes after being buffed in to the skin it changes to a much more natural color. I’ve been applying this the past few weeks with my oval brush from Mikasa Beauty. The foundation offers nice, even coverage. I would say it gives medium…

    Mikasa Beauty Brushes

A few weeks ago Mikasa Beauty reached out to me and offered me a really sweet discount code on their website plus a complimentary makeup sponge – their Lemon Drop sponge which retails for $10. I, a firm believer that you can never have too many makeup brushes, took them up on their offer and bought a small set of their oval brushes and redeemed my Lemon Drop. Mikasa sells traditional makeup brushes as well, but since oval brushes have been all over social media in recent months I wanted to check them out. Mikasa calls their oval brush collection “Techni Brushes”. I got the 4 piece set which includes the medium…

    ItsJudyTime – ItsEyeTime Palette

Do you watch YouTube? Years ago I was searching YouTube for tips and tricks with gel liner and I came across YouTuber ItsJudyTime. I instantly loved her video and started browsing through her channel for other videos. I, then, quickly found out that she had another YouTube channel, her daily vlog ItsJudysLife that chronicled her and her husband’s day. When I discovered her channel she was expecting her first baby. Now, if you follow Judy as well you know this was quite a while ago because she has 3 kids now! Anyway, I was an instant fan of hers because she is so down to earth and seems so normal…

    bareMinerals Invisible Light

I have been using bareMinerals for years and years – a little less these days but it’s still a reliable brand after all these years in my opinion. I started using their powder foundation back when I was in high school. We don’t need to talk about how many years ago that was. My mom had ordered it for me through QVC on an automated delivery schedule so it would get sent to me monthly and that’s basically all I wore in terms of makeup for years. Those were the days when all bareMinerals products were loose mineral powders. Remember back when the only eyeshadows they sold were loose powders? It…

Mini Beauty Reviews: NYX, Ardell, & Clinique

My post today is a little different than usual. Originally, I was going to post a review of the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara. But then I thought that would be a super short post and there were a few other new (to me) beauty bits that I could also write about. So rather than write 3 different short posts over the next week, I decided to combine them all into 1 post. So I have for you today, the NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer, the Ardell Brow Pencil, and as mentioned above – the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara. First up, the NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer. It claims to be…

Philosophy Hope in a Jar Foundation

How is everyone’s week going? I have been so busy this week trying to get so much done before the marking period ends next week. For those of you who are new or fairly new to Life According to Jamie, my full time job is teaching. The marking period ends next Friday and of course I made the brilliant decision to make projects and essays in all my courses due this week. Exams are next week so I want all these projects graded by the weekend. Plus, I’m headed out of town the second half of next week so I need everything done before my trip! To say I’m exhausted…

    NYX HD Concealer

I’ve been using the NYX HD Concealer for a few weeks now and I’m really liking it. It took me a while to get through the Revlon Photoready Concealer, which is a stick concealer so this liquid concealer from NYX was a welcome change. NYX offers different shades for the concealer – I’m using Light – and has also added in color correcting shades. The wand applicator is easy to use and not at all flimsy. The concealer formula is not thick, but still offers good coverage. I like that it feels cool on the skin giving off a refreshing feeling. Another plus is that it doesn’t set too quickly so…

    Guerlain Météorites Illuminating Powder Pearls

Guerlain is one of the fanciest, expensive, high-end beauty brands out there. I’ve owned one thing ever from the brand (the Météorites Primer) years ago and every time I put it on my face it felt luxurious. I’ve seen, as I’m sure all of you have as well, the Météorites Illuminating Powder Pearls for years on blogs, Instagram, etc. There are a few different shades and then every once in a while I see someone post about a limited edition one that’s out. I’ve always thought that they looked beautiful but never splurged. Until now that is. Back in the spring Sephora had their VIB/VIB Rouge sale and when those roll around…

    Majorette Blush

Last year when Benefit came out with the Majorette Cream to Powder Blush I thought the packaging looked adorable, but since I wasn’t a huge cream makeup fan I didn’t really think seriously about purchasing it. I’ve never been a huge fan of cream products, but they’ve been slowly growing on me. I first started coming around to the idea of them back in the winter with the BareMinerals Pop of Passion Blush Balm. So seeing as how I was starting to actually like cream products and Ulta had Majorette on sale for $10 from its original $29 price tag, I decided to get it. How amazing is that deal?! The packaging is…
