ItsJudyTime – ItsEyeTime Palette
Do you watch YouTube? Years ago I was searching YouTube for tips and tricks with gel liner and I came across YouTuber ItsJudyTime. I instantly loved her video and started browsing through her channel for other videos. I, then, quickly found out that she had another YouTube channel, her daily vlog ItsJudysLife that chronicled her and her husband’s day. When I discovered her channel she was expecting her first baby. Now, if you follow Judy as well you know this was quite a while ago because she has 3 kids now! Anyway, I was an instant fan of hers because she is so down to earth and seems so normal despite having millions of followers.
A few years ago she had a limited edition eyeshadow palette with BH Cosmetics that I was lucky enough to get my hands on before it was gone. Last month she launched her collaboration with Pixi and I knew I had to get that as well! I didn’t get the lip palette because I’m not a fan of those in general, but I did get the eyeshadow palette aptly named “ItsEyeTime”. It is filled with shades that Judy is known for loving and as luck would have it they are my types of shades as well.
The palette has a clear cover which I like because I can see all the shades and the packaging just looks sleek and simple. It has the signature Pixi light green packaging. The palette also comes with a adhesive mirror which you can stick anywhere. I chose to stick it to the back which will be handy if I take this with me traveling. The mirror is pretty good quality for a small little stick-on too as you can see in the shot above with my camera in the reflection.
All the shades are super wearable and blendable. They’re not super buttery like Lorac, but I’d liken the blendability to brands like Urban Decay if we’re talking about higher-end brands. In terms of drugstore, because Pixi is technically drugstore since it is sold in Target (although it’s a little more expensive than typical drugstore brands like Covergirl or Wet n Wild), it is more blendable and less chalky than say Almay.
As I mentioned earlier in this post, I love all these shades as they’re completely my kind of shades. Creams, champagnes, shades of taupe and brown, and a shimmery black. These are all must-have shades in my opinion. Judy named all the shades things that viewers would recognize from her family’s daily life. Names like “Honey Bear”, which is what she calls her husband, and “Ping” for the sound effect she inserts into her videos whenever someone does a thumbs up.
I used the palette yesterday so I wanted to snap some pics. I used “ItsMommysLife” all over the lid, “Brick” in the crease, and patted a little bit of “Snowflake” in the center. I’m also wearing my Philosophy Hope in a Jar Foundation, a blush by Tarte (the name escapes me at the moment), Benefit’s Watts Up, Ardell brow pencil, bareMinerals Lash Domination Mascara, and Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in “Bitch Perfect”. Β All in all, I really loved how easy the shades were to work with and the result of this easy, no fuss, look.
Whether you know Judy from YouTube or not, this is definitely a purchase worth making for your everyday makeup look. And with the inclusion of some of those dark shades you can easily create amazing looks for a night out as well!
The eye palette and lip palette are both sold at Target and Pixi Beauty, but have been selling out frequently! I wanted to link to the eye palette on the Target website but it’s not even listed because it’s sold out. When I was recently at Target, they were all sold out at the physical store too. It’s on the Pixi site (here) but currently sold out as I write this post so keep an eye out or sign up to be notified when it’s back in stock!
