August & September Netflix Binges

In the past two months, I did some serious Netflix binging. Since I loved these shows enough to binge watch, I thought I’d take a minute to round them up!

  1. Gilmore Girls
    Gilmore-Girls

Since Netflix added Gilmore Girls to their list of shows, people have been going crazy trying to rewatch their favorite mother/daughter duo. Back when it was actually on TV, I would only watch it here and there. Enough that I always knew the gist of what was going on, but I never watched it religiously so I’ve started to watch it from the beginning. I’m almost done with Season 2 of the show, which isn’t too impressive in my binging, but in my defense, there are 7 seasons so I’m taking my time with it and just watching in my spare time!

Random Thoughts: I, like many, love the quick wit and banter between Lorelai and Rory. Also, sorry to all the Lorelai & Luke fans, but I’ll always love her and Christopher together.

2. Daredevil

daredevil

I watched the entire first season of Daredevil, a Netflix original series. It’s entertaining and really hooks you in. I don’t know much about the Daredevil mythology apart from what I remember in that Ben Affleck movie version, which I think many people would like to forget ever happened! The parts are all well cast and I always forget that Charlie Cox is actually British!

Random Thoughts: The show is graphic in the violence/blood department, but I just can’t look away – even if it is between my fingers!

3. Sherlock

sherlock

I completed all the seasons of Sherlock, which I mentioned back in a favorites post. There are only 3 or 4 episodes per season, but each episode is around 90 minutes and a real treat in my opinion. I love trying to figure out the mystery and there are really so many twists and turns that will keep any viewer on their toes! I watch the show Elementary which airs in the States on CBS with Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Liu as Watson. While, Sherlock is also set in the present time period, it’s a bit more traditional Sherlock Holmes.

Random Thoughts: I didn’t really see what the hype about Benedict Cumberbatch was until I watched Sherlock. I really enjoy his portrayal!

4. The Blacklist

the-blacklist

I watched seasons 1 & 2 of The Blacklist in a matter of weeks. It only took me this long because once I finished season 1, I was waiting for Netflix to release season 2! I had heard for the past 2 years that this was a great show and worth watching, but I never really felt like watching it. Truth be told, I didn’t have time and I thought James Spader was kinda weird (no real reason why). But, this show is so good!! And yeah, James Spader’s character is a little eccentric, but he plays the character so well. Spader’s character is known as the “Concierge of Crime” and teams up with a black-ops FBI team to help bring down all the criminals on his black list, while also helping himself and his business out at the same time. The new season begins tomorrow and I cannot wait.

Random Thoughts: Megan Boone, the actress that plays Liz, wears an awful wig for most of season 1, because her hair in real life was really short at the time. Once you realize it or someone points it out to you, you can’t help but stare at it all the time! I don’t understand how they allowed that wig on the show. Seriously, they spend so much money on producing a show and they couldn’t figure out something better/find a better wig? Horrible wig aside, the show is totally worth watching!

So that rounds out the shows I seriously binge-watched in August and September. In a few months, I’ll probably have a new list to share! If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
