Maleficent

When I was little I loved watching Disney movies. In fact, I’m still a big fan of Disney movies. To this day, the Disney villain that I think is the scariest is by far, Maleficent. in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent is scary and evil. The movie looks dark and the music only adds to the scary/creepy mood. Maleficent looks like she’s floating as she walks in her black cloak and has the green glowing light on top of her staff. It’s been 20-something years since I first watched Sleeping Beauty and I still think she’s scary!

So I went to see Maleficent with my friends a few days ago (we tried to take a picture together with our 3D glasses but every picture just came out awkward looking) and was looking forward to see this live-action film about this Disney villain that I have a love/hate relationship with. The movie was completely different from Sleeping Beauty, which I guess is to be expected when it’s a movie about Maleficent and not Aurora aka Rose aka Sleeping Beauty. I’m not going to spoil the movie for anyone, but it’s a complete re-imagining and about a different perspective of the classic tale.
