If you missed my last few posts I am in Hawaii for vacation – more specifically I’m on the big island currently. Yesterday, there was the looming threat of Hurricane Iselle. I’m happy to report that the area that I’m staying was left untouched by the storm. There were periods of high winds, but I don’t think it even rained where I am. However, because there was the possibility of severe weather a lot of businesses such as restaurants and stores closed by mid afternoon. Here are the things I wore and as usual I’ve provided links to items that are currently still being sold!
I spent the morning taking advantage of the pool because it was going to be closed at noon to prepare for the storm! I especially like reversible bathing suits to take on vacations because you get 2 different looks with 1 bathing suit! Although, I still brought a fair share of swim suits.
Bikini: Aeropostale (reversible)
Coverup: Xhiliration via Target
After spending the morning at the pool, came the hunt to find lunch. A lot of places in the immediate area had started to close up and the few places that were still open were packed. These shorts are super comfortable and I love the pattern and crochet trim. The tee was only $5.95 – what a steal!
Top: V-Neck Top from H&M
Shorts: Banana Lemon via Marshalls
While most places were closed by mid-afternoon, luckily we were still able to get a reservation (provided the restaurant didn’t decide to close) at Kirin Chinese Restaurant because it is inside the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort. Despite the prediction of bad weather, there’s a good chance that hotel restaurants will remain open because they have to feed the guests that are all stuck there. I decided to go for a dressy casual look by pairing chambray shorts and a lacey top.
Top: Loft
Shorts: Hampton-Fit Chambray Shorts from Banana Republic
Shoes: Lace up sandals from JCrew Factory

I love that coverup! Glad you weren’t too affected by the storm.
