Birthday OOTD

For me, as I get older, celebrating birthdays have taken on a different meaning. It’s less about a day or night to celebrate me (and I mean that in the least conceited way possible) and more about an excuse to get together with good friends you don’t get to see all the time anymore. I recently celebrated my birthday and kept it low key for a few reasons. One being that I had just gotten home from Hawaii that afternoon and the other being that I didn’t feel like making a big spectacle of my birthday, but instead just wanted to go out for drinks at a local restaurant/bar. Gone are the days of trying to get as many of my friends to come out and they are replaced now with trying to just round up a  handful of close friends to come out and catch up.

Dress: Crop Top & Dress by Princess Vera Wang via Kohls
Shoes:  Loft

The crop top portion lays over the olive green dress. It was connected with a string, but the connection actually made it difficult to put the dress on. It kept getting tangled and whatnot, so I cut it and put it on separately.

photo 5 In my outfit picture I was holding my Michael Kors wallet/wristlet clutch, but I changed it out for this Coach wristlet because my keys wouldn’t fit into the MK one. I’m wearing a ring that used to be my mom’s a long time ago so I guess it can be considered vintage!

On a different note, last night were the Emmy’s and I’m excited to share with you all tomorrow my favorite dressed women of the night. I think I have my final picks, now I just need to put it all together!
