NYFW Trend: Dark Winter Florals
Yahoo Style NYFW Trend: Dark Winter Florals by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring Kay Unger New York gowns
New York Fashion Week is well under way and actually coming to a close soon. One trend that has been on the runways is dark winter florals and you know me, I love florals!

I picked out two floral dresses that I think work well for winter because the prints aren’t too spring-like. I particularly love the dress on the left for the big, bold floral print, the color scheme, and the cut is so flattering on the model. Of course, it helps if you’re as thin as her! The shoes are to die for as well. The gown on the right looks perfect for a formal outing and I especially love the magenta accents against the navy blue of the gown.

The other day, I wore a floral top that I think definitely falls into the winter floral category.
Sweater: Cocoon Sweater – JJ Always via Kohls
Top: Eyelash via Kohls
Jeans: Express
Boots: UGG – Bailey Button

My dark winter floral top isn’t as fancy as the dresses above, but it served its purpose for a casual day out and about on one of my days off this week.

Even though, my short work week has become even shorter, here’s a look at my makeup basket for the work week…
Face: Smashbox More than Primer Blemish Control, Benefit Erase Paste, Smashbox High Definition Concealer, bareMinerals Well Rested, Neutrogena Mineral Powder, bareMinerals Mineral Powder, L’oreal Magic Lumi Primer (highlight), Milani Baked Bronzer, Almay Smart Shade Blush (Pink), bareMinerals Luminizer, MAC Fix+
Eyes: Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer, bareMinerals The Affair to Remember, Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara, Wet n Wild Brow Kit
Lips: Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color (Lovechild)

Florals definitely bring a little warmth to this extra cold winter and while it is more often seen as a spring or summer print, I think it’s definitely wearable for winter!

— Well, it isn’t about the fancy dresses all the time. I thought your dress is pretty nice. 🙂 Keep it up!
