Feeling Tropical

I don’t know about where you are, but where I live the weather has been crazy. As recently as 5 days ago, it was hot weather. Hot enough that when I was getting in my car I thought to myself “It’s getting to be that time of the year when I need to put a beach towel in my car so that I don’t burn my bare legs on my car seat”. And now it’s rainy and cold! A good 30 degrees cooler than it was on Saturday. Crazy, right?

Despite the temperature drop, I was feeling tropical the other day and wore this sheer, floral blouse to work. You know I love my florals, but I don’t usually consider it a tropical look. However, the flowers and the colors of this particular blouse do give me a tropical feeling. Quick cut back to my mention of the weather – on this particular day it was pouring outside and the fire alarm went off at school (not a drill) and we all had to stand outside in the rain! I was very thankful and surprised that my students didn’t complain much about being soaked.

Anyway, I think the blouse gives me a tropical feel because the color is such a bright purple and the floral print is orchid-like instead of your standard multi-colored floral pattern. The purple and yellow definitely give me a warm weather feeling. Hopefully, this rainy, dreary weather will pass soon and it’ll be back to summer weather!
