Sheer Kimono

Kimono cardigans started to really gain popularity last spring and they are still going strong this year which is good because I’m still loving the look. I bought two last year from Forever21 which have been both made appearances on here last summer and I picked up a few more since last summer #sorrynotsorry. I wore this sheer, floral kimono earlier this week and it gave me such warm summer vibes.

I love all the colors happening on this kimono. The light, warm colors of the floral design pair beautifully with the soft, baby pink sheerness of the kimono. It hits right at the hip and the sleeves are large and flowy. There is also some lace detailing, vertically down the sides reminiscent of the Express top I wore here and also a strip down the sleeves. The colors make me think of a warm summer day and I think because they are such soft colors it gives me a romantic feel like summer in the garden as opposed to bright, neon colors which give me a beach/summer party feel. Does that make any sense?

I decided to wear these navy blue shorts instead of denim shorts because I was going to be out and about and wanted to look casual but not too casual – like not denim shorts casual. Also, I thought the navy blue would play nicely with the light blue accents of the kimono. Lastly, I wore beige sandals, a chocolate brown purse for my day out and about, and my La Clé necklace I won.

It was a good day and this outfit made it a good day all around!
