Sally Hansen - Grape Shifter

May 2016 Favorites

Another month gone by and as usual I can’t believe time has gone so fast. I really can’t handle how fast time is going!

I have a few favorites from the month of May to share with you all today so let’s get to it.

First up, I never thought I’d be a “podcast person”. I know a lot of people love listening to different podcasts and I always thought that’d be something cool to get in to, but I didn’t realistically see myself listening to any. The reason being my drives aren’t that long on a daily basis. I only have about a 15 minute drive to work so I’m not someone who has a long commute every day and I love listening to music so I’ve always rather listen to music during that time than try to listen to 15 minutes of a podcast. However, this month I started listening to Anna Faris’ podcast, Anna Faris is Unqualified and I love it!

Anna Faris is Unqualified

I haven’t listened to all the episodes yet but I’ve listened to a handful and they are so entertaining. Actress Anna Faris, invites other “Hollywood types” as she calls them onto her show and they talk about all different kinds of things such as what-if scenarios, life, career, family, etc. Then, they take one or two callers who are seeking life or relationship advice. I really enjoy listening to this podcast and I have found myself laughing to myself in my car. Every once in a while her husband, Chris Pratt, will make a [voice] cameo and give some advice and it’s so fun!

Next up, my new favorite nail polish is the Sally Hansen polish in “Grape Shifter”. I wrote about it in a manicure look (here). It is the best quality glitter polish I’ve ever used and the brush is phenomenal. It’s the first glitter polish I’ve ever used that there was plenty of glitter with each brush stroke and I wasn’t trying to get more glitter on without it becoming thick with clear goop – you know what I mean!

Another beauty item I loved this month was the Sephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Foundation. I raved about it (here). It’s been one of the best foundations I’ve used in my life.

Switching gears back to entertainment, I have two TV shows I’ve been loving this month. First, I loved the entire season of Grimm this season and the season finale was non-stop action! It was a great season and I can’t wait for it to return in the fall, though I’m by no means in a rush for the summer to be over!

I believe Grimm has been part of my monthly favorites before in the past, but this season and the season finale in May was just that good.

Another TV show I’ve been loving in May is actually a show that ended last year! I was always a fan of Justified, but the final season aired last spring and I never got around to watching it. Believe it or not, I’ve had the entire season saved on my DVR since last year! I’ve been binge watching it lately and have a few episodes left. So good. I wish it was still on!

Timothy Olyphant is perfect as US Marshall Raylan Givens and the show never disappoints with action and scheming. The show is actually pretty funny at times too.

Another TV related favorite, many of you may know that I’m a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars. The latest season just ended and it was a good one. I think this is the first season in a long time where I really had no idea who would win because it was so close. My favorite couple was Nyle & Peta and I wrote about them (here) after the season premiere and how in awe I was of them. They were fantastic every week and what made them even more amazing and special is that Nyle is deaf! Nyle & Peta’s Freestyle Dance during the finals was truly beautiful. Watching it gives me chills and even makes me want to cry!

Lastly, I’ve gone through a couple of “favorite” songs this month but the latest one is Ariana Grande’s “Into You”. So catchy and definitely making it onto my summer playlist which I’m currently putting together for a future post!

That rounds out my May favorites! What are some things you loved this month?
