3 Dresses, 1 Wedding Weekend
Over the weekend I went to my friend’s beautiful wedding. This is the same friend who I gave a shoutout to in a post way back in 2014 who I said has an affinity for elbow patches! So anyway, her wedding was this past weekend with various events leading up to the ceremony and reception. I did not attend all the events, but I did attend her Mehndi on Friday night (where we ate dinner, socialized, and got our henna done), the ceremony on Sunday morning, and the reception Sunday night.
With all these events, I of course, wore 3 different dresses so I thought this was a great opportunity to share with you all what I wore!
On Friday night, I wore this turquoise dress with small yellow chevron print all over and a cutout at the small of my back. I wore this dress on the blog before, here, but this time I wore it without a cardigan and instead of slouchy boots I wore lace up ankle flats. This is a great example of making your pieces work for you no matter what season!

The decorations at the Mehndi featured pretty umbrellas on the walls and on some of the tables as centerpieces. My goal was to take a picture with one, which proved to be tough because the room was so crowded and people were always sitting in front of the umbrellas or the umbrellas were in spots that were clearly visible to everyone and I didn’t want everyone to see me taking this picture! I kept my eye on a couple and as soon as I saw someone get up my friends and I ran over to get my picture taken quickly!
On Sunday morning, I got up bright and early and my 2 friends and I that I drove headed down to the venue about 80-90 minutes away. We packed up the car like we were going away on vacation with bags of shoes, accessories, makeup, our dresses for the reception, a change of clothes to wear to the mall (we decided to go to a mall to kill time in the afternoon inbetween the ceremony and reception). I wore this nude color dress with a cream lace. It’s not an overlay because it’s not a separate or moving pieces but is part of the dress entirely. This is also a re-wear and I’m happy to say it still fits 2 years later.
I paired it with nude t-strap heels, a cream fold-over clutch, and my Swarovski Click Ring. And in case you’re wondering what the black thing in my hand is, it was a selfie stick that the guests were given!

Finally, my reception look. I wore a sequined navy blue knee-length dress with a racer-back/halter look that draped in the back. I’m obsessed with the back! It’s hard to tell in these photos, but the dress is indeed navy blue and not black. In pictures it comes off darker but in person it is definitely blue. The way the back drapes looks so graceful and classy, in my opinion. I included a brightened photo of the back of my dress so you could really see it in detail.
I carried a black Coach wristlet, kept my Click Ring on even though I had brought other jewelry with me, and black heels.

That wraps up my looks from the wedding weekend! I loved everything I wore. It was a fun weekend and I wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, love, laughter, and amazing memories!
