Gathered Yoke + Button Details

Happy Saturday! Do you have anything exciting going on this weekend? I have Friendsgiving with some friends today and then a family dinner tomorrow to celebrate my dad’s retirement. Hopefully I’ll have some time to relax too because I’m really physically exhausted lately.

With that being said, I’ll try to keep today’s post brief! For those of you who don’t know my day job is high school english teacher. My dress code at work is business casual. I like wearing all different kinds of styles because that’sΒ my style. For those of you who have followed me for a while know that I wear all different kinds of things depending on my mood. I can feel boho chic one day, classic the next, and then in the mood for athleisure the next. It’s the same for my workwear. I can wear cords and a sweater one day and a pencil skirt and sophisticated blouse the next. I think fashion is a form of self-expression and honestly one of the things I look forward to each morning is wearing something that makes me feel good about myself.

I wore this blouse to work on a day when I felt like being a little dressier. This off-white blouse has a gathered yoke and button detailing down the sleeves. This blouse is seriously all about the details.

Top: LOFT | Pants: Nordstrom Rack | Watch: Anne Klein | Shoes: Chinese Laundry via DSW

The details on this top are so beautiful. Not only is the gathered yoke front so pretty, but there’s also perforated detailing. And to top it all off I love the covered buttons down the sleeves.

I wore this blouse with black paper bag waist pants, but you can’t really tell in these photos. I originally thought this blouse would come up shorter on me so I chose to wear the paper bag waist pants so the pants could get their style moment, but it didn’t happen. Plus, these pants don’t have one of those prominent paper bag waists so it looks a little more elastic looking than overlapping material, if that makes sense.

I love this blouse and I can’t wait to wear it again in the spring with a nice pencil skirt for a different look.

Enjoy your Saturday!
