Happy Friday! We’re supposed to get rain and heavy winds all day today so my original outfit plans, which I was going to document for the blog, got pushed back. But that’s ok, I’ll just shuffle some things around. Looking back at a less dreary time, I’m flashing back to my trip to Florida at the end of 2017. If you’re a regular follower of my blog then you might know that I went to Disney World and Universal Studios at the end of December. It was my first time to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it did not disappoint. Overall, I love Disney more than Universal Studios, but the Harry Potter section was top notch. For The Daily Post’s photo challenge “A Face in the Crowd” I thought I could use a photo from my trip because I was sure I could find some great photo from the parks with the crowds.
The photo I decided to go with was from Diagon Alley at Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The dragon on top of Gringotts breathes fire a few times an hour – I want to say maybe every 15 minutes. We got to see it during the day which was really cool, but to see it at night was even cooler because obviously the flames are so much brighter at night. It is so cool to see and everyone waits for it.
Since this photo is from seeing the dragon at night it’s not as easy to see all the people looking up, but you can sort of see people or at least their heads the at the bottom of the photo and even see some guy’s hands in the bottom right holding up his phone for a photo. You get the feeling that all those faces looking up at the flames are looking in awe, like me. The dark night with the dragon breathing fire, the Christmas decorations and all the people looking up really creates this magical scene. I hope you can get a sense of the magic through this photo and feel like a part of the crowd!
