Sweat App – Body & Mind
Happy Friday! This week has been soooo long. And I know people say that a lot, but seriously – it felt like it took forever to me. In fact, for the past 2 days the first thing in my head when I wake up is that it was Friday and then I realized it was not Friday. Huge let down! I’ve been extra tired this week – probably a mix of being busy and not getting enough sleep. I can’t wait to get a solid sleep tonight!
If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know earlier this year I was doing the BBG program on the Sweat App. I was really good about keeping up with my workouts and I did it unfailingly for months. But then summer hit and I was busy and traveling and everything else so I took a very long hiatus. At the end of September/beginning of October I decided I need to get back to regularly working out and after some thought I ultimately decided to stop BBG and start the Body & Mind program or BAM which is also part of the Sweat app. It is yoga based and I felt that was a better fit for me right now. I used to do yoga weekly years ago back in college so I’m familiar with the poses in BAM which is super helpful. I’m always achey so I love that there’s so much stretching since this is yoga. And although I was definitely sweating more and burning more calories during BBG, I enjoy the stretching and core strength focusing in BAM. It’s also easier on my body because as I progressed with BBG it was getting too hard or difficult for me. Like a lot of the exercises like jumping lunges and having to jump up benches was really hurting my knees. With BAM so far, I can do everything they ask me to do. Except I can’t really do side plank without putting my knee down, but that was true for me whenever I had to do side plank in yoga class or even when I used to do kickboxing and we sometimes had to do side planks at the end.
So I’ve been doing BAM for about a month now and it’s been pretty easy for me to keep up with it. I typically do the workout after I get home from work and have had time to relax/decompress for a bit. I usually have the news on while I do my work out on my mat. The workout is 28 minutes long just like BBG so it’s really easy to fit in to your day.
I’ll be back next month with an update!
