Christmas Garland
I’ve always wanted garland with lights around my house so when I moved in to my townhouse and had a good amount of visible bannister I knew I had the perfect opportunity. The lighted garland that I saw at Costco required an outlet so that didn’t work for me, but I found strings of tiny LED lights in the same aisle that are battery operated. So I decided to get that and then buy regular garland and combine the two.
Then, I went to Michael’s and guys, garland is expensive! Originally I wanted the kind of garland that looks like real fir or pine or whatever you call it, but that was more expensive and I also thought it might be less flexible to use on my bannister. At least the kind I saw at Michael’s didn’t look too flexible. So I got this garland that is faux leaves and berries which go with the theme on my mantel (more to come on that in a later post). I weaved the LED lights around the garland. The lights have different options – white lights, multicolor, and alternating. The alternating lights also have different speeds. They can fade from white to color or blink fast.
I love how it turned out and it makes my home feel so festive and warm. I love turning the lights on to whatever setting I feel like. Some days it’s white lights, some days colored, some days I want them to alternate. I keep my tree alternating because I can never decide which I like best. Fun fact, my outdoor wreath is also battery operated and has different light options, but again more on that later.
Are you a fan of garland?
