Washed Out Striped Front Tie Top

Today is the first day of school! I may have wanted to cry last night thinking about the daunting new school year and going back to work, but hopefully today is nice and smooth. I had a productive long weekend with my move and some furniture shopping for my new place. This week will be busy too with my closing of my condo scheduled for Thursday morning (going in to work late that day) so hopefully this is a good week overall!

About today’s post though – I love clothes that look modern but give me a retro vibe at the same time and this striped front tie sleeveless top does just that. I’m really in to the color combination in the stripes here and the washed out look of them make me think of the 80s.

The two front pockets is such a nice touch and is always a nice detail to a button down top. And I love the front tie detail as well.

I paired the top with distressed black jeans and teal sandals to go with the top. When I wore this top to a casual work day last week I wore it with non-distressed jeans and a black cardigan. Well, I kept the cardigan on for most of the day since we’re not supposed to wear sleeveless, but once we were able to leave for the day and I stayed late to move furniture I took it off. I was sweating up a storm trying to unstack and arrange all my new student desks and chairs that had just gotten delivered to my room!
