Restyled: Striped Square Neck Tank + Skort

Last summer Is hared this black and white striped square neck tank top with black gauzy shorts. I wore it again last weekend but restyled it with a black skort. The reason I wanted to go for this black & white look is because I thought it would go really well with my new moon and star necklace. The black and white crystal moon and stars are small on a delicate rose gold chain.

I’ve always loved the moon and stars. They really fascinate me and I think they’re so pretty. Back in high school was instant messaging on AIM was still a thing, one of my screen names was Sur la Lune which translates to “on the moon” in french. When I was in college, I took a class called something like Teacher as a Performer and one of our projects was to record ourselves describing a scene and our classmates had to close their eyes and envision it. For example if you were describing a carnival and pretending we were all there you might be like, “Keep on walking and pass all the cotton candy and funnel cake vendors. Do you hear that? It’s the carousel up ahead.” I recorded myself talking about stargazing.

As you guys know by now, I’m obsessed with the A Court of Thorns and Roses book series and the stars and moon are a prominent symbol. There’s a popular line from one of the books that goes, “To the stars who listen and the dreams that are answered.”

Tank top: LOFT | Necklace: Swarovski (here) | Sandals: Target

I don’t remember where my skort is from so I didn’t list it above, but I’ve linked to similar below.

I’m still loving this square neck top as much as I did last summer and the delicate necklace is the perfect accessory.
