First Lines of Books Part 3
I always love when the first line of a book is super memorable. Whether it’s shocking, or hilarious, or emotional – a memorable first line can really hook me. I last did a round up about 4 months ago and wanted to do another one before I said goodbye to a majority of my books for the next month or two (they’re in storage while I’m in the process of moving).

- Bride – “This war of ours, the one between Vampyrs and the Weres began several centuries ago with brutal escalations of violence, culminated amid flowing torrents of varicolored blood, and ended in a whisper of buttercream cake on the day I met my husband for the first time.”
- The Reason I Married Him – “You smell.”
- The Corpse in the Closet – “This was not how she was going to die, Riley decided. Not sitting on a concrete floor in a musty TV studio surrounded by idiots.” (Okay, I know this is technically two lines, but that second one is needed!)
- The Finisher – “It was his third murder that week.”
- Daisy Haites – “No guns at the dinner table.”
- Her Radiant Curse – “I was not born a monster.”
I love these first lines! Have you read any of these books?
