DIY Christmas Wreath Sweater
Every year there is a festive sweater contest at work. I’ve taken part some years. This year I did a group sweater with a few friends and we decided to make them. I’ve done a DIY ugly Christmas sweater years ago. I just looked and it was over 10 years ago! My friend saw a Christmas wreath sweater idea somewhere on social media and so that’s what we decided to do because it sounded like a cute idea. We went to Michael’s and originally intended to buy white sweatshirts, red bows, and garland. We lucked out when we found red sweatshirts that already had a white bow embroidered on, allowing us to skip a step. We also found garland that had the plastic holographic lights on it so we didn’t need to dress it up.
At first, we did some stitches to keep the garland in place because we didn’t think this material would glue well, but the hot glue ended up being way better than stitching.
I think it turned out really well! We ended up winning 1st place (after a little of drama) in the Creative Sweaters category.
