Festive Family Time in Avalon & Downtown Alpharetta

If you saw my post the other day about hand delivering homemade Christmas cookies to my cousins in Georgia, then you know I spent just under a week out of town. On the first full day in Georgia, we walked around Avalon – a mixed use outdoor shopping/eating/living center. We went to a few shops, ate a delicious lunch at The Cape, and I met up with old friends for a decadent and delicious Mexican hot chocolate at Cafe Intermezzo. My friend Liann and I have been friends since we were like 3 and back when we were in elementary school she and her family moved to Georgia. It just so happens that 15 years later, my cousins would move to the same town! Liann and I have always kept in touch and visited each other since we were kids so it was wonderful to see her during this trip!

We had Peking duck last night at Chef’s House and then walked around downtown Alpharetta afterwards to see the tree and shop for some sweets. My cousins and I finished off the night continuing our bad movie tradition and watched Jingle All the Way! We already binged the new episodes of Stranger Things the night I arrived.

More about my trip to come over the next couple days!
