Cobalt Blue Shawl Collar
Cobalt blue has been on my brain lately. I think I’ve talked about it at least 3 times in the past week or two. This outfit post is definitely not as glamorous as my earlier Golden Globes fashion post, but welcome to every day, real life!
Last week, on our coldest day of the season thus far, I knew I wanted to wear something really warm but still work appropriate to work. Overnight the temperatures dropped below 0 with the wind chill so I knew I was going to be walking into a freezing room when I got to my classroom. I’ve mentioned it before, my classroom has bad insulation so in June and September when the afternoons are especially hot outside, my room is unbearably hot even with air conditioning. In the winter when it’s bone chillingly cold outside, my room is an icebox. For reference, my classroom has 2, yes 2, space heaters! That’s on top of the building having heat! After a few hours, the room is nice and comfortable, but it’s pretty cold when you first walk in.
Anyway, I wanted to wear something that would keep me warm, was loose enough to also wear a long sleeve henley underneath and was still appropriate to wear to work. I chose to wear this cobalt blue striped, shawl collar top.
Top: Banana Republic Factory
Pants: Uniqlo
It is a bit more casual than I usually dress for work, but I feel like an absolutely freezing cold day earns me a pass! The day may have been painfully cold, but at least I was dressed warm and had a bright color on to make the day just a tad better!
