Day to Night: Muted Florals

I’m so happy to be able to bring you another day to night look. I’ve done this once so far (here) and hope to get to do it more often. I wore this floral top to work the other day. It’s got front pockets and it’s one of those button downs with the hidden buttons. I brought a black cardigan with me to work and ended up wearing it all day since the mornings and nights here have been in the negative degrees lately!

Cardigan: American Apparel
Pants: LOFT
Shoes: Aldo via DSW
Watch: Michael Kors

After work, I met up with a girl friend and decided to keep the cardigan and floral top on but change my pants and shoes as well as add my infinity scarf that I arm knitted.

Pants: Uniqlo
Boots: Checklist via Nordstrom Rack

I love the muted florals of this top and I think it’s perfect for a cold, winter day. It’s a perfect example of how florals can be completely wearable in the winter because the print is not bright at all. The print has a vintage feel and it’s easy to wear to work or to a casual outing with a friend.

In my Monday-Friday makeup basket this week…

Face: Smashbox More than Primer Blemish Control, Covergirl + Olay Tone Rehab Foundation, Benefit Erase Paste, Smashbox High Definition Concealer, bareMinerals Well Rested, Neutrogena Mineral Powder, bareMinerals Mineral Veil, L’oreal Magic Lumi Primer (highlight), Essence Sun Club Bronzer, theBalm Instain Blush (Toile), bareMinerals Luminizer, MAC Fix+
Eyes: Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer, Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con Plush Eyeshadow (The Dreamer), Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara, Wet n Wild Brow Kit
Lips: Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color (Petal)

The Essence Sun Club bronzer is huge and I think it’s going to last me forever. It also smells like coconut and makes me think of warm weather on these frigid days. The luster matte lip color is super, super pigmented and is the kind of consistency that if I put some on my lips and try to just rub my lips together for a sheerer look it stays exactly where I applied it with the wand so what I’ve been doing is using my finger to sheer it out a bit.

Okay, back to the day to night outfit. I’m really happy with how the top was easily transferable from day to night. It was easily work friendly with the brown dress pants and wedges and then perfect for hanging out with my friend with my grey jeggings, combat boots and infinity scarf. The scarf pairs nicely with the muted floral colors of the top.

Hopefully, I’ll be back with another day to night look sooner rather than later!
