Rainy Day Pops of Color

I hope everyone had a good Halloween weekend! For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like the weekend went by in the blink of an eye – not that I would say no to an extra day off if it was offered! While I felt rested over the weekend, I hardly slept last night because I had too much anxiety over the World Series game! Normally I’m a Yankees fan but since they weren’t in it I did want the other New York team, the Mets, to win and last night was definitely a heartbreaker. I always get so anxious during these types of games and feel so bad for the players! Anyway, hopefully I won’t be too tired at work today.

A few weeks ago we had a really rainy weekend where I live. There was a potential hurricane headed up this way that didn’t end up hitting us but we still had one day of really rainy weather because of another storm. The day after the rain, it was still overcast so I wanted to wear bright colors.

Kimono: Aerie
Top: Express
Leggings: Milk26 via Nordstrom Rack
Rain Boots: Hunter Boots

I am in love with the bright colors in this kimono. As most of you know I’ve been loving fringe lately so the combination of these beautiful bright colors and the fringe is perfection to me. Because this particular day had a bit of a chill to it, I wore a 3/4 sleeve white & black top underneath for some more warmth. I paired the top and kimono with black leggings and my green Hunter rain boots because even though the rain had mostly stopped there were tons of puddles around.

This kimono from Aerie is actually called “beach kimono” and while I think it looks so pretty, chic and cool for a kimono to be a beach coverup I’m not sure I’m that cool yet to use it as its name intends! However, I have been more committed to my fitness in recent weeks so perhaps by next year when I next wear a bathing suit I’ll be more comfortable wearing kimonos as cover ups!

This outfit was so comfortable. I actually wore it when I went to see “The Martian” and it was great for the movie theater. Comfortable, yet stylish and I could wrap my kimono around myself if I got cold in the theater since it is so loose and flowy.

The more I look at this outfit, the more I like it! I’m pretty lucky that the one pair of Hunter Boots I have match this kimono well!
