Swing Dress + Denim Jacket

Happy Wednesday! Not sure if this week is going by quickly or not. Sometimes I feel like it’s going quickly as we’re already at the middle of the week. Other times I question how it’s not Friday yet. It’s been a very tiring week so far with loads of work, but I’m surviving so far!

Onto today’s post! How do you all feel about swing dresses? Swing dresses are gaining in popularity lately and it’s easy to see why. They are loose fitting, flowy dresses which means they’re super comfortable, but at the same time they still do have an A-line shape which means you won’t be too engulfed in material and look shapeless.

I got this swing dress from American Eagle back in the summer and finally wore it back in mid October.

This beautiful red, floral patterned swing dress has a keyhole cut-out at the neckline, which makes the dress a little different and standout more. But, honestly I would love this dress without the keyhole just the same! The dress definitely has a texture to it – it’s not a soft material, but not rough either. It’s hard to describe, but it has an interesting feel and texture to it.

I paired the dress with brown, slouchy boots, a yellow gilded metallic cocktail ring, and a denim jacket because it was pretty chilly when I wore this out to dinner. The ring I got from a jewelry party a few years ago and I can’t remember which brand the party was – I think it was Premier or Lia Sophia. The dark yellow/gold metallic detailing of the ring matched with the berry red of the dress is a match made in fall heaven.

This denim jacket from LOFT is so soft, but not at all too lightweight. It definitely provides some warmth in the cool fall air. Definitely a fall staple in my opinion! It can work well with a t-shirt and jeans just as well as with this swing dress.

If you can believe it (which you should cause I wouldn’t lie to you!) this photo taken with my cell phone isn’t using a filter at all! #nofilter I think the colors just pop so well because of the way the sun was hitting me as I took the picture. Love this dress. The boots, dress, ring and denim jacket make the ultimate fall outfit in my opinion!
