Cheeseburger Dip
So you know when you scroll down your Instagram feed, there’s occasionally those sponsored posts from brands as a form of advertisement? Well, a few weeks ago I saw one of those sponsored posts from Walmart and they had a picture up of Cheeseburger Dip which looked so good. I thought it would be perfect for the Super Bowl so I looked up the recipe and I decided I needed to make it before the big game in case any of you want to try it out!
I mostly followed the Walmart recipe, which you can find here, but I found two discrepancies with the recipe. First off, the picture that Walmart uses clearly has diced tomatoes in the dish which is conveniently not part of the list of ingredients or part of the recipe at all. Um, false advertisement much? I left out the diced tomatoes mostly just because I didn’t have any. Second, the recipe says to saute garlic, which is fine except for the fact that they didn’t list garlic as one of the ingredients so I didn’t know how much to use! So in case you’re wondering, I used 2 cloves.
Onto the dip. I minced garlic and onions and cut bacon into one inch pieces.
I cooked the ground beef and then the bacon and set both aside.
Next up, saute the garlic and onions and once those browned a bit I added all the ingredients – the cooked ground beef, bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, cheddar, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup.
After giving it all a good mix, I poured the dip into a baking dish and baked it at 350 for 20 minutes (uncovered).
You can eat this dip with chips or on bread like I did with these baguette slices. Or any way you like really! It is so yummy and would make a delicious and hearty appetizer or snack for any occasion, especially next weekend’s Super Bowl! It is seriously so good and the only thing I would change is cutting the bacon into smaller pieces as those one inch pieces were a bit too big.
I have a healthier Super Bowl snack coming up on here next week, but if you’re in the mood for something cheesy, meaty, and a little fattening then you have to try this cheeseburger dip!
