Drop Waist Lace Trim

My style this past summer was more boho chic inspired than usual. I had a real love for drop waist, loose fitting clothes. And it was easy to fall into this style when I came across dresses as pretty as this drop waist lace trim dress with a beautiful flower pattern.

Dress: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Sandals: Target | Ring: Alex & Ani | Purse: Michael Kors

I’m absolutely in love with everything about this dress. The colors are perfect, the silhouette and cut is so flattering, and the lace trim adds that extra bit of femininity to the dress. It might be my favorite outfit of the summer. It’s got that slinky feel to it without being too loose and baggy. It’s like it fits just right. I love the delicate straps and that it goes into a racerback type back, which makes the dress feel like a higher quality material rather than flimsy if you know what I mean.

My favorite sandals from the summer just so happened to be a match made in heaven with this dress (pun intended). I bought these sandals from Target because I loved the color and thought they’d go with a lot of my clothes since well, I love the color. I was so right because I’ve worn them so often in the past few months and they match perfectly with my dress.

My ring picked up on the light green leaf print on the dress so it was a nice and simple accessory. It was a birthday gift from my bestie – an Alex & Ani ring with peridot, my birthstone. And that’s it! I wanted to keep the look really simple for multiple reasons. It was a hot summer day, which automatically induces people to wear less accessories and generally go for simpler looks. This was also the day I was going glassblowing so I didn’t want to wear anything cumbersome. And lastly, I just love this dress so much that I wanted the whole look to be about the dress. The matching sandals and pretty ring that picked up the minor colors in the dress were added bonuses.
