I’ve talked and featured outfits on here before in the winters where I wore something bright to lift my spirits during the cold, dreary days. But sometimes (or oftentimes), you don’t feel like being bright – you’re fine with the greys, blacks, and whites. Last week, I had one of those days. I wore a grey sweater and black dress pants. I accessorized it with my black watch, multi-strand knotted necklace, and tweed shoes with black bows. But as I looked in my mirror I realized that while I wanted to wear grey and black to fit my mood of being tired, cold, and ready to skip work and go straight to a nap – I realized that my accessory picks really dressed up the grey and black look.
Sweater: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Pants: LOFT | Watch: Ann Klein
I wrote about this necklace in (this) post and said back then that I wasn’t sure where I bought it. Well, I’m still not sure but I still think it’s from LOFT. The grey sweater is nice and warm and it has the sweetest scalloped lace trim. I wore a light green/blue tank top underneath so the small amount of color you see beneath the black lace trim is a nice subtle pop of color. My watch and grey & black shoes were the final touches. The shoes are so comfortable too so the cute tweed design and bows are just a bonus. So even when you’re not feeling like wearing something bright and want to just give in to your dark, easy, and comfortable fashion style you can still make your look interesting. The jewelry and accessories I chose dresses up this otherwise plain outfit for sure.
