School/work’s been back in session for about 3 weeks now but I’m just getting around to posting the dress I wore for the first day of school! If you’re new to my blog, my day time job is teaching. I’m a high school english teacher. With the school year back I’ll be sharing more work style outfits which usually happens every year since that’s what I’m dressing for Monday-Friday.
So what did I wear the first day of school? Back in the summer I picked up two LC Lauren Conrad dresses that I knew would be perfect for work. Well, they’re the same lace midi dresses but different prints. This green print one is called “Isla Stripe”. I love the print and lace detailing. The length is perfect for work too!

I thought the mix of dark and light greens, white, and light pinks in this dress was perfect for late summer, early September. The other dress, which I’ll be wearing later this week and sharing sometime later is more fall toned with yellows and oranges.
The dual vertical lace detailing on the top half of the dress is such a nice detail and so pretty. Equally nice is the horizontal lace strips on the skirt. It helps to break up the pattern but is also a beautiful detail.
I paired the dress with my Olivia Burton watch and grey open toed block heels with tassels. I loved wearing this dress. It’s so pretty without being too dressy for work. It’s also really comfortable which is always a huge bonus! I’ll be back to share the other dress in a few weeks!
