I haven’t done a Body & Mind, BAM, update since January so I thought it was time for another one. The focus of this update is being kind to yourself. I touched on this in the past about listening to your body, not forcing anything, Since my last update, I have taken two weeks off from the Body & Mind program. Not consecutively. One week I wasn’t feeling well and the other week I was so busy that I knew I wouldn’t be able to complete all the workouts for the week so I decided to give myself a break.
Last year I would probably feel really guilty for taking a week off from my exercising, but I’ve learned that sometimes you just need a break. And when those days or weeks come, you can just try to be better in other ways i.e. eating a little healthier so you don’t feel like you’re being really unhealthy. If you’re forcing your workouts or stressing out about getting them done, then I think you burn out quicker and it leads to you just not wanting to do it at all. But when I take a few days off, I tend to come back more motivated to exercise.
So my message to you in this update is to be kind to yourself and give yourself grace. When you need to take a break, take one! Just take care of yourself!
