Korean Beef over Rice
I don’t know about you, but I love the flavors of Korean meat. Last year I tried out this recipe that I found for Korean Beef over Rice and it is extremely easy and tasty! It’s the perfect weeknight meal and is an easy meal for you to throw together with items you may have available already during this quarantine.
I followed the recipe exactly the first time I made it and I pretty much follow it still today, with one tiny little tweak.
For this recipe you’ll need:
- ground beef
- garlic
- brown sugar
- soy sauce
- ground ginger
- salt & pepper
- crush red pepper
- rice
- green onions
- sesame oil
First, if you’re making rice you’ll need to get that started. I use a rice cooker and it usually takes about 20-25 minutes to cook so keep that in mind. Then, brown the ground beef in sesame oil with the garlic. Once the meat is browned, drain most of the liquid and add in the brown sugar. soy sauce, ginger, salt & pepper, and crushed red pepper. Simmer for a few minutes and then serve over cooked rice with some green onions.
The only change I have made to this recipe is that I put a little less than the called for amount of brown sugar. It asks for 1/2 cup and I put a little less than that because it can be a little too sweet for me.
It is so good! And as you can see it’s extremely easy to make. You can’t mess it up!
