Foodie Diary: Georgia
I always love documenting what I eat when I travel. I was in Georgia (the Atlanta area) for a long weekend for the Taylor Swift concert. My cousin is a food influencer (@followingthefork on Instagram), which means I knew I would be eating well.
I arrived on Thursday night – later than planned due to a delay – and my cousin made dinner. I forgot to take a photo of that but she made a pasta dish from TikTok.
On Friday, we went to breakfast at Hen Mother Cookhouse and I got the cold salmon plate. It was so good!
Then, we went to the Taylor Swift concert that evening and we just ate some fries and chicken tenders while in line for merch so I didn’t get a photo of that. Post-concert we went to Waffle House to get some late night food at like 1am. I got hash browns with cheese, cubed ham, and tomatoes, and bacon.
On Saturday, we went to Fogon and Lions. We shared the Provoleta Al Fogon and added mushrooms. It was delicious. The mushrooms really made the dish! For my entree I got the Arroz Al Carbon Bowl and for the protein I added the pork belly. This was probably my favorite thing I ate all weekend. It was so good and I wish I had more room in my stomach to have finished it all. I think I left behind a little bit of rice and beans, one piece of pork belly, and one plantain. For dessert we shared the tres leches, but I was so full that I only had two bites.
For dinner that night we went to Colletta and shared the burrata and I ordered the rigatoni as my entree.
For dessert we were going to get ice cream, but the line was insane so we stopped at a little macaron stand and picked out a box of 6 to eat while we watched a movie back at the house.
On Sunday, my cousin made pancakes which I didn’t take a photo of. I was supposed to fly out that afternoon, but after spending a few hours at the airport my flight ended up being delayed until the next morning! So I went back to my cousin’s and we got takeout for dinner which I also didn’t photograph haha.
So that’s what I ate during my long weekend away! I have an exciting trip planned for this summer and can’t wait to share another vacation food post then!
