How My Cardigan Saved My Life

Okay, so it didn’t really save my life, but it did save the day and me from embarrassment. Let’s go back to a few mornings ago. I was getting ready for work. Put on my outfit, was in the process of doing my makeup, thinking about how I wanted to write a blog post about the top I was wearing. Then, I noticed I got a tiny bit of powder on my shirt. See, my skin has been acting up lately, which has caused me to use more concealer and powder than usual. So, I try to wipe it with my finger and instead of it wiping away, the powder smears. Well, that wasn’t good. So I tried with a little water, but it wasn’t going away. I busted out my Tide to Go from the closet and sure enough the initial powder stain was gone, but guess what? Now I had an unfortunate stain from the Tide to Go in the form of a ring! SO not ideal. I only had a few minutes before I needed to head out the door and no time to change because I had no other top ironed! I had already planned to wear a cardigan, it was actually already on me, but had not intended to button it so that the pretty layers of my shirt could all show. Obviously, this was about to change.

Originally, I had planned to talk about this top and how I love the tiered layers, especially because of the little beads and the scalloped edges. I decided to just button the top two buttons so that the layers on the bottom could still be seen. Just the top, stained, layer was hidden from view.

After taking this pictures when I got home from work, I immediately gave my shirt a good soaking to get the stain out.
