From the Ocean to Disney

We’re up to day 3 of my vacation daily recaps! Here are day 1 and day 2 if you missed them as well as a look at what’s inside my makeup/skincare/haircare bag for this trip.

Day 3

Yesterday morning we drove a little bit further to reach Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida to spend a few hours at the beach. The weather was perfect and the sand was so soft. What I loved most was that the sand here, unlike back home in NJ, wasn’t hot at all! Usually back home in the summer the sand burns my feet but the sand at Lido Key was very pleasant.

Bathing Suit: Kohls
T-Shirt: Victoria’s Secret
Shorts: Express

I don’t remember the brand of my swimsuit but I’ve had it for a few years and it’s still going strong. It has one of those criss-cross ties in the back which I love. The tee was free from VS with my purchase a few months ago.

The beach was a nice visit, but I managed to get sunburnt on the top of my feet! I guess I missed them when putting on my sunscreen. They’re starting to itch now as I type up this post. Thank goodness I brought aloe with me!

Next up, we headed to lunch at Tommy Bahama . I didn’t even know there were Tommy Bahama restaurants! I thought that he/the company only made those Hawaiian style shirts.

Lunch was great and very refreshing after spending a few hours at the beach.

We shared appetizers of coconut shrimp and chicken lollipops which were both really delicious. The chicken had a slightly spicy sauce and was very tender. The coconut shrimp was delectable as was my Bungalow Salad that I could not get enough of. It had dried blueberries, feta, toasted almonds, and macadamia nuts in a lemon vinaigrette. Seriously, so good.

Back on the road to get to Disney!

After checking in and quickly washing up we needed to head out to Downtown Disney to make it to our reservation at the Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant.

Top: Express
Tank Top: Old Navy
Capris: Wallflower via Kohls

I love the bright color of this top and the lace back. Definitely dresses up an otherwise plain cotton sleeveless top. I’m glad I brought my zip-up sweater too because when the wind picked up in the evening it definitely got chilly out!

Back to the restaurant, it has a fun family environment and has live music and dancers performing Irish dances which definitely entertainers diners.

I had the Portobello Beauty which was a Portobello sandwich with cheese, zucchini and tomato chutney.

As we walked around Downtown Disney a little more in the evening, I was able to get a good picture for the weekly photo challenge (keep an eye out for that on Friday!) and get some ice cream (Mickey Mouse of course).

Yesterday was just the start of my Disney adventures so there will be a lot more to come in the next few days!
