Laser Cut Hem
Early on in the summer I saw a lot of laser cut fashion items. Ranging from clothing to purses to shoes, laser cut was pretty popular and I was really loving it. Well I’m not going to let this trend go so easily just because we’ve moved on to the fall fashion season!
A few weeks ago was picture day at school, which many of my co-workers hate. I don’t really mind the picture taking part, but what I do find stressful is that I, along with one of my friends, have to plan the whole thing. And let me tell you, scheduling is the worst. Making sure all the kids get their pictures taken and planning out when each class will come down is the absolute worst. But back to the picture taking – that I don’t mind. So, like most people, I want to look especially nice for picture day because this is the picture that’s going to go on my ID and in the yearbook!
I decided to wear this navy blue short sleeve blouse with light brown/khaki colored pants, beige t-strap heels, a white cardigan and a mint green statement necklace. The blouse had my beloved laser cut and all was right with the world.

I think laser print is just so fun yet so simple. I mean it’s essentially little holes in a pattern, but it’s just so great! I especially love this top because not only does it have a laser print hem, but it’s also scalloped which makes it even better in my opinion.
I decided to go with the beige heels because they seemed to just fit the outfit. It was my first time wearing these heels and they were so ridiculously comfortable for most of the day. I remember thinking to myself how comfy they were. Well, I must have jinxed myself because towards the very end of the day (and granted, I walk around and stand a lot at work) they really started to rub against my heels and become painful. It wasn’t until the very end of the day though so I would say I got a good 7 hours in before they became painful. Nothing a bandaid couldn’t fix and I’ve since put some of that Dr. Scholl’s Tape on the back heel inside of the shoe. But, I still have a little blister on my heel and it’s been 3 weeks!
I also paired it with this mint green statement necklace that I received as a gift last year. I love the color combination of navy blue and mint green so I immediately had this necklace in mind when I decided to wear this top. What I’ve learned about school pictures is that only the top half of you shows up in your pictures. Since you’re really only being photographed from about the chest up, you want to really dress that up. Really, what’s the use in wearing a gorgeous bracelet for picture day when no one’s going to see your wrists in the photos?! So I try to wear nice earrings or a necklace that will actually show up in the pictures.
Anyway, back to the point of this post – I adore everything about this navy blue top. And I mean everything – from the color, the laser cut, the scalloped hem!
What do you guys think about laser cut?
