Red Plaid + Lace Top

It’s time for my first fashion/OOTD post of the new year! Sorry (or not sorry) to say it’s from 2015 though. This is an easy look I put together for dinner weeks ago. It really is a look that was just thrown together, but because the back of this cute and bright, red plaid top features lace, it makes the look seem less casual and less like I didn’t put a ton of thought into it. Combine that with my over-the-knee boots and now it really looks dressier!

I love how rich the red in this plaid top is. I find it’s more common to see reds that are duller when it comes to plaid, not that I would shy away from that, but I do love the way this red pops.

So yes, the lace on the back of this top and the over-the-knee boots definitely elevate this look to a dressier, more “going out” type look. But, let’s not forget that this is a super comfy look – I mean let’s be real, I’m wearing a loose top, leggings, and wedge boots! I love when things just work out like that.
