It was a long and busy week – thankfully it’s the weekend! Today I’m sharing a DIY winter craft that I did a few weeks ago. I was perusing Pinterest for some winter craft ideas and saw a lot of mason jar ideas. I saw some with seasonal trees inside the jars and there were all different ideas involving the two. Inspired by the many different ideas I went to Hobby Lobby and picked up what I could find for the vision I had.
I really only picked up the trees and the jars. Everything else I already had – the glitter paper, glue, cotton balls. Originally I wanted to get 3 or 4 matching mason jars of different sizes but I couldn’t find those! There were a bunch of different mason jars but none that matched (of differing sizes) and so many of them are colored or have stripes or polka dots etc. on them and that just would not work for me because how would you see the trees inside? So I picked up whatever clear jars I could find and tried to make sure I got different sizes. I think the mix & match ends up making it look better actually. I picked up 3 jars and used another jar that I had at home to add some more varying sizes. I also ideally wanted varying sizes in the trees and I had seen online that there were different size seasonal trees but when I went to the store they only had packs of the same size so I had to work with what I had.

I really love the way this turned out! It’s such a cute DIY decor piece for the winter. I already have some other ideas for next winter of what to do with my leftover trees.
