Sequins + Tulle

If you watched my Instastories over the weekend you probably caught one of my various photos and videos from my friend’s beautiful wedding. Today I’m sharing my wedding guest look!

I began looking for a dress for the wedding in the late spring because I didn’t know how long it would take me to find one I liked, plus I would be away for a week at the beginning of July and I didn’t want to be rushing and stressed to find something. I didn’t quite know what I wanted, but I did know that I what I really wanted was something with mixed textures i.e. solid top and feathered skirt. However, I didn’t know if I’d find anything like that let alone one I liked. Then, I looked at Asos, one of my favorite places to shop, and ta da found the dress!

A navy blue dress with a short sleeve, v-neck, sequined top, and tulle skirt. It’s supposed to be a midi dress, but it was a little long on me making it seem too big for me. Luckily, my aunt does alterations for me and shortened the skirt, plus took in the top a little for me.

Sorry in advance for the picture overload for this dress, but I just liked all of these photos!

Dress: Maya via Asos | Shoes: DSW | Clutch: Lulu Townsend via DSW

I decided to go with a silver clutch and silver heels to play off the sequins. Both my heels and box clutch are a few years old from DSW. I debated whether I should curl my hair or not (due to laziness) but ultimately I decided to and I’m happy I did because I think it completed the look! I used my trusty Beachwaver and had my beachy waves done in 25 minutes. This was the first time I’ve curled my hair since I cut it but I think it looks great!

I loved loved loved this dress for the wedding. It was so comfortable. I loved the tulle skirt and the sequins. The v-neck was very flattering for my figure without being too revealing. This is the first dress I’ve worn to a summer wedding where I didn’t have to worry about making sure I didn’t have bad tan lines!

I hope you like this dress as much as I do!
