Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee

Although it’s supposed to reach 80 degrees today, it was colder by about 30 degrees last weekend. Probably worth mentioning it’s going to be colder by 30-40 degrees tomorrow too, so I’m enjoying it while it lasts! I’d like a spring and not just skip over it to summer.

Anyway, last weekend it was a little chilly so when I was out and about all day I wore this green lapel coat. It’s such a fun coat and I love the extra wide lapels – so fashionable! To go with the green of the coat, I wore a tee I got for Christmas that has a plaid elephant on it. So cute! I finished off the look with jeans and my blue loafers that I can’t get enough of.Β Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 3Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 4Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 5Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 6Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 7Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 8Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 9Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 10Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 11Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 12Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant TeeGreen Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 1Green Lapel Coat + Plaid Elephant Tee 2

Coat: Goodnight Macaroon | Tee: J.Crew | Jeans: Kohl’s | Shoes: DSW

This coat is so nice for those chilly spring days – which I think are coming back next week – and I think it’ll be perfect for fall later on this year. I can just imagine it with brown boots, can’t you? So the coat is from Goodnight Macaroon and if you remember from my block striped tinsel sweatersΒ post then you know I don’t plan on buying from them again in the future. Luckily, I had no issues with this coat, but I did get it before my issue occurred. So, there’s that. I chose to wear this coat with this plaid elephant tee because 1) it was warm enough to wear out and about without being too heavy and 2) it matched the plaid so well! Yes, it’s a cozy looking material, but it’s actually pretty light. And since the lapels are so wide, the buttons start pretty low down so while this coat will keep you warm, it definitely isn’t meant to keep you that warm. I love it because it’s something different – a different take on the classic pea coat.

What do you think of the wide lapel look?
