Air Fryer French Fries
Hi all – a quick food post before my concert recap post goes up this afternoon. So my parents have an air fryer and if you know anyone with an air fryer or you yourself have one then you know people who have them swear by them/love them. They’re easy to use and healthier in the sense that you’re frying food with like a tablespoon of oil instead of inches of it.
One thing my family regularly makes in the air fryer is french fries. They’re so easy to make. I wash and peel a potato (or more depending on how many you want to make), cut them into strips and soak them in water first. Then I dry the potatoes and make sure to get all the excess water out. Then I toss them with peanut oil before putting them in the air fryer. They cook for about 10 minutes and then I let them cool before frying them again. The double fry really crisps them up. When they’re done, just season them!
Not too long ago, I made some fries and ate them with some mussels my dad made. He makes really good mussels with white wine, onions, celery, and carrots. Mussels and french fries or moules frites is a really popular dish in Belgium. When I went to Belgium a few years ago, so many restaurants served it and I loved it!
If you guys are interested in a food post featuring the mussels, I can work on that. Let me know!
