Striped Midi Jumpsuit
My first day back to work yesterday was okay. I was surprisingly not too tired considering I kept waking up every hour. I think I was subconsciously afraid I would oversleep. Hopefully the rest of this week goes smoothly.
The jumpsuit I’m sharing today is technically a midi, but it’s a little closer to a full jumpsuit on me since I’m short. Not quite full length, but definitely closer to the ankle than a midi should be. It doesn’t bother me though. This striped midi has tie straps and is a loose fit, so it’s comfortable and has a sort of overalls feel to it since it has tie straps.
I wore this striped midi jumpsuit to Holland Ridge Farms to see the tulips last week so all my outfit photos are from the farm because I figured what better backdrop than a tulip farm?! I debated for quite some time whether I should wear this super lightweight green turtleneck or a pastel colored tee underneath this jumpsuit. The weather was supposed to be mild, but breezy. Ultimately, I decided to go with the turtleneck because it wasn’t going to be hot out, the turtleneck is so thin that I probably wouldn’t have been hot anyway, and I really wanted that pop of green.
Turtleneck: American Eagle | Jumpsuit: Red Dress Boutique | Shoes: Target | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Bag: Michael Kors
I was expecting the fields to be a bit more grassy and not so dusty/dirt paths so I shouldn’t have worn sandals since it was so dusty. But it was fine and sandals went better with my outfit anyway haha.
I love the thin multicolor stripes of this jumpsuit. It’s so different and you can basically wear any color top underneath because of the various colors in the stripes.
Before I wrap up this post, I want to get a little personal. While I love this jumpsuit, it is a bit different – although not wildly out there or anything. But different. In the past, I would be the type of person who would think this piece is so cute, but be afraid or self-conscious to wear it in public. I’d be afraid someone would look at me weird or think I’m wearing something ridiculous. And, of course, I do still feel that way at times. But, I feel like I’ve come a really long way, because I decided I like this jumpsuit and it might not be for everyone, but all that matters is that I like it. I wore it out, and not just to run some errands, but out to a very public place crawling with people. I wore it with confidence and I felt very strongly that day that no one can tell you anything about your outfit if you wear it with confidence and pride. Own your look and no one can make you feel bad about it. This is especially fitting for me to write about today because I had an unfortunate encounter yesterday. It’s not a big deal, but it felt like one to me (it’s all relative after all). I’m not going to share the details because I don’t believe in putting anyone on blast on here. Plus, reiterating it kind of just hurts my feelings all over again. But, this is a reminder to all of you to be unapologetically yourself!
Okay, side story over. I really like this outfit and it was super comfy which you guys know is key for me. Also, I’m going to write a whole blog post about my trip to the farm next week so be on the look out for that!
