Mustard Yellow: Yea or Nay?

It’s time for another edition of Yea or Nay? This time – Mustard Yellow. Mustard is a color that as a child I never really thought much about, but I imagine if I was asked my thoughts on it I probably would’ve made a face. Not that I hated the color, but I don’t know anyone who when asked what their favorite color is their immediate response is “mustard”. It’s a color that has grown on me as I’ve gotten older and I’ve really learned to appreciate it.

Mustard is a complex color and is a color that screams fall and even though we are getting into the winter months, I still wanted to give it a moment.

I honestly can’t remember where I got the lacey white tank from, but I have one in black too.

I love boyfriend cardigans because they are so stylish, yet loose fitting and low maintenance. Buttoned or unbuttoned – either way it looks good.

As a side note to this post – in my Monday-Friday makeup basket for the week:

Mustard is a great color for the fall season and although I have very few items in the color, I think it’s a color worth investing in. I’d like to get some other things in this color or some variation of this shade for next fall. In my opinion, it’s also the type of color that most everyone can pull off. It would be a nice bright (and uncommon) for people with fairer complexions and it would also stand out on people of darker complexions. It’s not your typical color, but definitely worth mentioning!

So what are your thoughts on the color?

I love the color! I feel colors affect your mood and yellow is just one of those happy-go-lucky, sunshine-y colors that can always put a smile on your face! My favorite flower is the sunflower so this is why I love the color mustard yellow, more so in my adult age.
