Exposed Lace Back

I’m back with the post I promised on how I dressed up my burgundy stretch cords. A few days ago I shared my casual, dress down, look featuring these pants and a chambray shirt. Today, I’m sharing with you all what I wore to my friend’s surprise birthday party. I wanted to dress up just a little bit because it was a party, but I didn’t have to be too dressed up since it was a semi-small gathering and it was at his apartment and there was no specific dress code (for example a theme).

I wore this solid colored peach/pink top because I thought the color paired nicely with the burgundy pants. From the front, this has a kind of plain look – although I don’t think there’s anything plain about these colors together! But, the back is what sold me on this top and it’s also why I may or may not have also picked up this shirt in grey….

Pants: Uniqlo

The back has a fully functional full length zipper that opens to reveal a lace back. Love! I chose to zip it just a few inches so it wouldn’t flare at so much when looking from the front. There is no lining so I wore a nude color tank underneath. You could just wear your bra, but I feel more comfortable with a tank and plus it’s December!

To dress it up a little more, I wore deep burgundy/purple big stud earrings and a multi-strand bracelet (Christmas gift).

I’ve written a few times that I’m loving multi-chain/strand necklaces lately so it’s no surprise that I love this multi-chain bracelet. It has gold chains – some plain, some with rhinestones, and two chains with white leather woven in. It’s such a fun and pretty mix.

For my makeup for the party I used:

Eyes: Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer, Lorac – Plum Velvet quad, Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara, Wet n Wild Brow Kit
Lips: Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss (Blush)

I chose not to wear a necklace to keep the front of the top more minimal since the back is so pretty. I hope you like this more dressed up styling of the burgundy stretch cords!

P.S. In case you’ve been following along and you’re wondering whether I got my technical difficulties resolved, I haven’t and I’m still frustrated and waiting! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this post 🙂
