Lace Panels

Today’s my late night of parent/teacher conferences. I was going to wear a dress because it’s supposed to actually get close to 60 degrees today! But, seeing as I’m still not feeling 100% (see last night’s post) I decided I’ll wear more comfortable wardrobe staples today and save the dress for next week.

But let’s rewind a few days. This past Monday, I decided I wanted to go with a more low-key, trendy look for work instead of a more business casual look. Lace is one of my favorite materials and I think this tee with lace panels instantly creates a more interesting look.

I can’t remember what brand my cardigan is and it’s in the laundry now aka I’m too lazy to look. I believe my necklace is from Lia Sophia, but I’m not completely sure.

The top is a light grey/off white color and the lace is a bit of a darker shade which makes for a nice contrast. The lace is see-through and I’m wearing a grey tank underneath.

I love this necklace featuring the large dark translucent stone and (a little hard to tell because it’s turned sideways) large key. I can’t help but play with it throughout the day when I’m wearing it. Wearing a long necklace like this one works really nicely with the look of the lace paneled top and keeps it the low-key look I was going for. If I wore a statement necklace or something closer to the neck it would create a much dressier look.

In my Monday-Friday makeup basket this week….

Face: Smashbox More than Primer Blemish Control, Covergirl + Olay Tone Rehab, Benefit Erase Paste, Smashbox High Definition Concealer, bareMinerals Well Rested, Neutrogena Mineral Powder, bareMinerals Mineral Veil, Essence Sun Club Bronzer, bareMinerals blush (Joyous Jennifer), L’oreal Magic Lumi Primer (highlight), bareMinerals Luminizer, MAC Fix+
Eyes: Lorac Behind the Scenes Primer, Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara, Wet n Wild Brow Kit
Lips: Almay Liquid Lip Balm (Blooming)

I’m back to the Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara. I got this as a free gift with one of my purchases last year. It gives a much more natural look than the Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara that I’d been using the past 2 months, but it is a lot less messy which I’m thankful for.

I really enjoyed how this outfit came together and it was a nice look for the start of the week!

Thank you, Karen! Haha I’m a bit of a makeup hoarder and I don’t discriminate between drugstore and high-end! It’s just so hard to pass up some of these things especially if they are limited edition!
